LARRIES BEAT MASSENA 16-6; 1ST WIN VS. RAIDERS SINCE '98 ST. LAWRENCE CENTRAL 16, MASSENA 6 Mark Crump carried 15 times for 89 yards and scored both Larries’ touchdowns in lifting St. Lawrence Central to a 16-6 win over the visiting Massena Red Raiders, on Hall of Fame Weekend in Brasher. The victory marked the first for a Larries’ team over the Raiders since 1998. The Larries (2-2) led 3-0 at the half on a field goal from the 21-yard line by Keith Felix. During the second half, the relentless Larries’ defense continued to stymie the Raiders (1-3) up the middle with a sturdy interior line. The Raiders were held to just 61 yard rushing in the first half. Massena took the lead with 3:57 left in the third quarter when quarterback Cedric Maurer jetted the left sideline 20 yards to paydirt and put Massena ahead 6-3. However, the Larries regained the lead when Crump scored his first eight-yard touchdown with 0:19 left in the third quarter to make it 10-6, then closed out the scoring with another eight-yarder with 2:07 left in the game.
