BWFD RESCUE HORSE FELL THROUGH ICE

BWFD CALLED OUT FOR A HORSE WHO HAS FALLEN THROUGH THE ICE. IN WINTHROP BY THE BRIDGE BY THE OLD CHAPMAN FARM...FIREMAN FALLS THROUGH ICE TOO. Around 3:00pm today BWFD were called to help an Amish family rescue their horse who had gotten over the fence fallen through the ice in the St.Regis River in Winthrop The Amish family bought the old Chapman Farm by the bridge .
Lucky water is very low in that area and the horse could touch bottom. Neighbors, Police, and BWFD all helped in the rescue. He was about 10' from the bank. After they got him turned arounded and rope up under him they were able to help Bert get her feet up on the ice and out of the water. Horse was tired few scaped and bruise and was taken to the barn to be looked after. 2/2/2020 Took about 40 min to get her up and out..not sure how long she was in the water. Update she is warm feed and being looked after and acting like nothing happened...
