Thousand Islands-Alex Bay's Michael Wetterhan (14) shoots at the St. Lawrence goal at the end of the first period, but is blocked by the Larries' goalie Rico DiMatteo. Sixth-seeded Thousand Islands-Alexandria fired in the first two goals, but top-seed St. Lawrence Central came storming back to tie the game 2-2 by the end of the first period. The Larries’ momentum continued into the middle frame, en route to a 9-4 victory in the Section X Division II semifinal at Tritown Arena. Keith Felix and Jack Pullano both scored two goals in leading the Larries, while DiMatteo made 27 saves. St. Lawrence Central advances to the Division II title game against #4-seeded Norwood-Norfolk. For the Islanders, goalie Trey Thompson stopped 28 pucks on net. Thousand Islanders-Alexandria closed out its season at 6-14 overall. Shamrock Coach Tim Cook, "I'm very proud of the effort of our boys this year. We lost 11 (9 graduated, 2 prep) from last year's team and put ourselves in great position despite youth and inexperience. Many in the league brought entire teams back and we still were able to compete with anyone put in front of us. The older guys we do have stepped up and played bigger roles.
